Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College is instituting a new Help Desk to help students, faculty, and staff who encounter technical difficulties. Beginning Wednesday, August 15, you will be able to visit http://helpdesk.southernwv.edu to access contact information and create a ticket.
On the Help Desk site, you will be able to access FAQs, important phone numbers, and you will be able to change or reset your password. You will also be able to submit a ticket, if needed. Once created, the ticket will be reviewed and sent to the appropriate office for response.
Southern’s primary goal is helping our students succeed. We want to be able to provide you the customer care you deserve, and this new system will alleviate confusion, and ensure problems are addressed in a quicker, more efficient way.
If you have upgraded your computer to Windows 10, please be aware that the default web browser in Windows 10 is the new Microsoft Edge. Though Edge is shown with a blue E icon, it is NOT the same as the Internet Explorer browser. Edge will NOT work correctly with Blackboard. There are several web browsers that are supported including some versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer 10. To be sure, you should check your browser compatibility with Blackboard by clicking on this browser checker tool. If it shows you have an unsupported browser, please install and use a different browser when using Blackboard or you will experience errors and problems with your online academic work.
